Quetiapine Empty Quetiapine

Post by Shaggy Thu Sep 24, 2015 10:02 pm

I started taking Quetiapine around 8 months ago. At first I was on the slow release tablets and got up to 500mg at night along with Mirtazapine 45mg (this is in addition to my propanolol (beta blocker), diazapam (benzo), and various vitamin supplements). This turned me into a zombie during the morning and slowly went mad as the day / night went on until I took my night dosage again.

I spoke to my Pdoc and asked to go on the instant release Quetiapine with 300mg at night and 2 lots of 100s during the day. This has massivkey improved the efficacy of the tablets. I have a lot more manageable days now because of this change.

I guess I'm writing this just to a) let you know the 2 different types of Quetiapine work differently; and b) you have a responsibility to yourself to engage with your medication and with your Pdoc.

Quetiapine Empty Re: Quetiapine

Shaggy I agree with what you're saying. I agree that I should be engaging with my meds but I just can't seem to put that into practice. Every time I see my Pdoc I just buckle and say "ye I'm fine been okay" which is totall bullshit.

Right, that's it, I'm speaking to him next time

Thanks Shaggy!

I've been on the slow release for 6 months and I feel like a zombie every morning. I think I'll ask about the faster release ones.

Thanks!
